Greene County senior Jordan Challen placed fourth in the 2A state wrestling tournament in the 138-pound weight class.
Challen was ranked sixth in the state going into the tournament. He wrestled Mount Vernon senior Ryan Muller late Friday night in the third consolation round and won a 5-4 decision. On Saturday he won in the consolation semifinal over Solon junior Cole Fritz in a 10-9 decision.
That win took him to the consolation final match where he took on Mason Buster of Mediapolis. Buster won a 4-3 decision and finished third in the tournament. Challen was fourth. All his losses were to wrestlers who placed fifth or higher at the tournament.
Challen qualified for the state tournament three times. He finished his high school career with 139 wins.
